You can mirror your Chromebook screen to AirServer using Google Cast, which is built into ChromeOS. No additional app is required on your Chromebook.
Before you start
- Make sure AirServer is running on your Mac, Windows PC, or AirServer Connect device.
- Connect your Chromebook to the same Wi-Fi network as the device running AirServer. On AirServer Connect, you can also join the Guest Hotspot if it is enabled.
- Make sure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on.
How to mirror your Chromebook (from Quick Settings)
- At the bottom-right corner of your screen, select the time to open Quick Settings.
- Select Cast devices available.
- Select your AirServer device from the list.
- Choose what you'd like to share (a specific tab or your whole screen).
- Select Share.
To stop mirroring, select the time in the bottom-right corner, then next to Casting screen select Stop.
How to mirror your Chromebook (from Google Chrome)
If Cast is not available in Quick Settings, you can also cast from the browser.
- Open Google Chrome.
- At the top-right, select More (the three-dot menu) → Cast.
- Select Cast to.
- Choose whether to share your current tab (Cast tab) or your whole screen (Cast desktop).
- Select your AirServer device.
To stop mirroring, select More → Cast → Stop.
Casting a tab vs. casting your desktop
- Cast tab shares only the currently active Chrome tab, with the tab's audio playing through the AirServer receiver. Best for showing a specific web page, video, or slideshow.
- Cast desktop shares your entire Chromebook screen, including any app or window. Best for presentations that use multiple applications.
